Avenged Sevenfold's fifth studio album was originally released in 2010 following the death of drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan. Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy appears on this album and toured with the band in 2010. Produced by Mike Elizondo and mixed by Andy Wallace.
